Sometimes in life we can get so caught up in our busy hectic life that we forget to take some time for little things that make us happy. Stopping to do things you love once in awhile is gonna make life seem less stressful. I am a big believer in filling your soul with the things you love, and things that make your heart happy. After all you only get one life.
Get yourself some flowers!
A small and simple tip, is to go out and buy yourself some flowers. I love getting flowers for my house, they make the area look happy, and the smell always reminds me of a warm spring day. Another option which I also love, is to create small garden. You don’t need to have a huge backyard to create a garden that thrives. Taking some time out of your day to water the plants, and pick the fresh vegetables and fruits, is gonna create a happy place for you. You can also have indoor house plants, which will create a happy looking home. The key is to have a 5 min task for you to take your mind of everything and enjoy what you’ve created.
Feed your body something sweet!
Being on a healthy eating journey can sometimes be hard, especially when I crave desserts. Every now and then take some time to make a sweet treat, for you to enjoy at your leisure. Im not talking about cake or candy, (although if that is what you want) thats fine. Im talking more like a fresh fruit cobbler, or apple pie. Make a sweet treat thats not gonna make you feel like your binging or eating off your diet. Pick a day of the week thats not as busy for you and plan a time to make the dessert. This is gonna be a time for you to take your mind of your busy life, and throw your energy into something different. If you feel to tempted by the whole pie, bring some to your friends, or family!
Get your body moving!
Exercise is one of the simplest things to do that can release endorphins to make you happy. You don’t need to go and do a full workout routine. Simply put on some sneakers and go for a walk or jog. This will help you get outside and breathe in the fresh air, especially if you’ve worked inside all day. You can put on your favorite music while you walk, or listen to the sounds of the outside world. Let your mind wander, as you take deep breaths. This may seem silly to you, but giving yourself an escape from the real world, will releases tension from the day.
Put your thoughts on paper!
Journaling is a huge way to get out of your own head. Putting all the things your feeling and thinking into a journal will help you see what your stressed about most. If you make a habit of writing something everyday, whether its a long blurb or only a few sentences at-least you’ll know its there if you need it. Another huge help is diving into a good book. take time out of your week to visit a bookstore and roam the aisle for a good book. Books can transport you to a different time if you let them, which is a perfect simple tip. Before you sleep or after a long work day, sit down in a comfy area and read for a bit. You’ll find that when you put the book down, you are rested.
