Hey there lovelies, I wanted to share some healthy habits I try to enforce in my everyday life. Being healthy isn’t all about toning your body, health starts with your mind. Creating healthy habits, will help you have a healthy mind, healthy body and overall healthy lifestyle.

Writing in a journal is a huge step to creating a healthy mind. Being able to express yourself in any way you want, without judgement can be very rewarding. If your new to journaling, start off with writing about things that have been weighing on your mind, goals you want to achieve, or memories you want to remember. If anything journals can be a great thing to look back on when your older, and remember the things you were feeling and thinking. We as humans tend to hold things in and bottle things up till we can’t take it anymore and we explode on someone. This is very damaging to our mental health and can cause stress related issues. Having a place to write down what your feeling, and really being able to express yourself, will help you heal and move on from whatever is bothering you.

We as a society can tend to idealize what everyone else is doing, and how much better others lives are. Social media has a lot to do with this, being able to see everyone doing all these amazing things can bring you into a depressed state. Getting off your phone, and being mindful of the things around you can make you feel a thousand times better. You wouldn’t be jealous of what others are doing if you can’t see it, or are clueless to their lives. Shut off your phone, delete the app, and take your mental health into consideration.

What you choose to put into your body is so important when you are trying to create a healthy life. We all know the saying you are what you eat, and this is so beyond true. Feed your body whole, natural foods, things that aren’t processed and don’t have a ton of chemicals. This will help you think clearer, clear up your skin, and make your joints and bones stronger. I am a big advocate for vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. Meats in the supermarket are full of bad chemicals and dyes to keep the color, they are bad your body and can make you feel icky. Adapting a meatless lifestyle is overall rewarding, it can help you digest food easier and give your digestive system an easier time.

Having a TECH-FREE hobby, will be another way for you to release stress and unwind. For me I love knitting, reading, cooking, and running. It gives me time away from my phone, and to interact in the real world. If you are a busy person, it is so so important for you to have a way to unwind and release stress. Take ten minutes before you go to bed, when you get home from work, or on your lunch break to work on a hobble you enjoy. You’ll find it’s way more fulfilling than being on your phone.
I always encourage anyone trying to live a healthier life to incorporate stretching into their daily routine. Stretching will help in so many aspects of your life. It creates better posture, can help you stay limber if your getting older, and will help your joints become stronger. I always stretch first thing in the morning, Ill set my coffee on the coffee table and stretch on the carpet. Don’t push yourself to do anything crazy, simply move your body in comfortable positions, to allow your muscles to become less tense.

Its awesome when we can afford to buy ourselves some new clothes and splurge a little, and I always encourage you to do so when you have the means. We can however sometimes forget about those less fortune than us. Those women in women shelter who don’t have very many clothing items, or new mommas who need baby clothes but can’t afford them. Going through your wardrobe and boxing up pieces you don’t wear anymore, and donating them to your local women’s shelter or salvation army can be extremely rewarding. You have the means to buy yourself clothes, make-up, food, lets not forget about those of us who cant.

Getting out for an evening walk, or opening up your windows in the house to allow fresh air in, is one thing thats amazing for your health. Fresh air can clear your head, and allow thoughts to follow more freely. It can also promote good health, by opening up your lungs and clearing out any bad toxins. If you have little ones, no matter if its warm or cold, bundle them up and get them outside. Letting them run and breath fresh air is awesome for their health and yours.
8). ᔕᗩY TᕼᗩᑎKᔕ ᗷEᖴOᖇE EᐯEᖇY ᗰEᗩᒪ
This is another one that goes along with thinking about those less fortune than us. With social media we get caught up in what those around us buy, or wear, or look like. Lets not forget about those of us who don’t have something as simple as food. Make a healthy meal and give thanks to whatever or whoever you believe in, ie God, Buddha, the universe. Take a minute to feel lucky to be enjoying a hot heathy meal.
9). ᗰᗩKE ᔕEᒪᖴ ᑕᗩᖇE ᗩ ᑭᖇIOᖇITY
No one else is gonna force you to take time for yourself. Making self care a priority is so important for your overall health. If your body is working properly, and your mind is flowing smoothly your life will be so much healthier and rewarding. But none of that can happen if you aren’t taking time for yourself, to be healthy, and heal wounds you need healing. Don’t ever feel bad for telling someone you don’t wanna go out cause you need a self care day. Taking care of your body i.e exercising, eating healthy, stretching, and drinking lots of water, will make you more energized and happy. Taking time to talk to a therapist, go running, or taking deep breaths and meditating can help your mind in so many ways. Healing emotional wounds is so so important to getting on the road to a healthier mindset.

I can not express how important it is for you to get your 8hrs of sleep every night. Sleep rejuvenates every aspect of our body, it heals wounds, and makes your mind clear. If we didn’t need sleep, then we wouldn’t as human be able to sleep. So many of us live these extraordinarily busy lifestyle, we need sleep in order to function and do what it is that we do. Sleep is the cheapest therapy.
