Hey there my lovelies! Hope everyone is doing well, today I want to talk about some of my favorite new age style poetry books. You probably love pinning quotes to your Pinterst boards, and a lot of those Pinterst quotes come straight out of these books. Most of them you guys will probably recognize!
𝕄𝕚𝕝𝕜 𝕒𝕟𝕕 ℍ𝕠𝕟𝕖𝕪: ℝ𝕦𝕡𝕚 𝕂𝕒𝕦𝕣
This is Rupi Kaur’s poetry book about falling in love, and falling out of love. This book because a world wide success and you are probably familiar with a least one or two entries from this book.
“My favorite thing about you is your smell, you smell like earth, herbs, garden, a little more human than the rest of us”
“Sometimes the apology never comes when it is wanted. And when it comes it is neither wanted nor needed”
𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕦𝕟 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕗𝕝𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕤: ℝ𝕦𝕡𝕚 𝕂𝕒𝕦𝕣
Rupi Kaur writes this “recipe for life” poetry book, about what it takes to live, and different life lessons. This also became a world wide success, selling out of most book stores in a matter of days.
“Your voice does to me what autumn does to trees, you call to say hello, and my clothes fall naturally”
“The universe took its time on you, crafted you to offer the world something different from everyone else. When you doubt how you were created, you doubt an energy greater than both of us”
𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕕: 𝔸𝕥𝕥𝕚𝕔𝕦𝕤
This is probably one of my all time favorite poetry books, Atticus is an amazing poetry writer. These poems really touch my heart and cause me to think. Most of the poems are about love, loss and life.
“Love is diving head first into someone else’s confusion and finding that it all makes sense.”
“I think its beautiful the way you sparkle when you talk about the things you love.”
“I aspire to be an old man, with an old wife, laughing at old jokes from a wild youth.”
𝕐𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕠𝕟: ℕ𝕠𝕠𝕣 𝕌𝕟𝕟𝕒𝕙𝕒𝕣
I had never heard of this poet before I purchased this book, but after reading the whole thing I must say I have a definite respect for them. This book talks a lot about history, all of our yesterdays, and life in general. This is not a beginner poetry book, these poems are more in depth and spiritual.
“I share a legacy with the sky, we both know how to carry some unanswered prayers and some unshed tears” (the sky and I)
“Be kind for this is something a lot of people can never be”
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕠𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕝𝕠𝕟𝕘𝕚𝕟𝕘: 𝕂.𝕐 ℝ𝕠𝕓𝕚𝕟𝕤𝕠𝕟
This poetry book is all about how it feels to long for a love you lost , and how it feels to have your heart broken. These poems are longer in style, almost like small stories. K.Y Robinson is and awesome and very talented new age poet.
“One day I will peel the husk of my insecurities, soak them in salt water and lay them to rest.”
“I used to turn away from her, but now I’m turning into her, slowly like honey”
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕡𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕔𝕖𝕤𝕤 𝕤𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕤 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕗 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕠𝕟𝕖: 𝔸𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕒 𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕔𝕖
This is a great book for beginner poetry readers. Amanda Lovelace is a simple poet that writes about things that matter. Definitely check this one out if you’re looking to start reading poetry books.
“What ever will you do when everyone stops believing your red lipstick stained lies.”
“I hope you can find it in your heart to be proud of the women I have become in spite of you.”
