Hey there lovelies, today we are going to be talking about some healthy habits you can incorporate into your everyday life! It’s so easy to get off track during the winter time, feeling like you can eat whatever you want and having no motivation to exercise. Here are some easy tips to keep yourself healthy, and keep your body feeling strong and in shape.
ℂ𝕦𝕥 𝕓𝕒𝕔𝕜 𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕗𝕗𝕖𝕖
This is going to be a hard habit to start and stick with, I know it was for me. However, cutting back on the amount of coffee you drink can have tremendous results. You will mostly like feel less anxious and stressed, caffeine can trigger your nerves to be on high alert. You will feel less bloated, coffee is an natural laxative, causing bloating and gas! You will also be cutting back on the amount of sugar you are intaking so early in the morning. Coffee sweeteners and creamers are loaded with sugar and corn starch syrups that can spike your blood sugar. Try replacing your coffee with green tea for a feel better caffeinated option!
𝔸𝕝𝕨𝕒𝕪𝕤 𝕖𝕒𝕥 𝕓𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕗𝕒𝕤𝕥
This was another hard habit for me to adopt, but it also has a lot of awesome health benefits. For me I usually grab a coffee and head out the door forgetting about breakfast all together. This causes me to start getting tired and lagged around noon, wishing I could take a nap. Even though coffee seems like a great pick me up, it only has instant results. Meaning when you crash off the coffee high you have nothing else to fuel your body, leaving you feeling sluggish. Having breakfast in the morning will keep you fueled so much longer than coffee will. Grabbing something high in carbohydrates will be the best option in the morning. Foods such as oatmeal, peanut butter toast, egg sandwich, bagels etc.
𝕋𝕦𝕣𝕟 𝕠𝕗𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕚𝕔𝕤 𝕒𝕟 𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕓𝕖𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕕
Sleep is one of the most important factors in keeping the human body functioning. Watching tv, Netflix, or playing on your phone before bed can often cause you to have a harder time falling asleep. This is because your mind is staying alert and simulated by being on the electronics. its gonna be hard to turn your mind off, and simply go to sleep. So instead shut off the electronics an hour before bed, try doing things like ; reading, coloring, drawing, knitting, etc instead. These activities will give your mind time to wind down and get into a natural state of sleep.
𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕪 𝕒𝕨𝕒𝕪 𝕗𝕣𝕠𝕞 𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕚𝕗𝕚𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕤𝕦𝕘𝕒𝕣𝕤
This time of year i.e Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas, can be full of sweets and sugars. But trying your hardest to stay away from artificial sugars will make you feel a hundred times better. For one, sugars will raise spike your blood sugar, causing havoc on your metabolism. It can also cause you to gain weight, this is because your body holds on to the sugar and turns it into fat. You may notice that around the holiday season you feel sluggish, you get headaches, stomach aches, or even feel a bit shaky, these are all side effects of sugar! If your in the mood for something sweet try snacking on fruit, rice pudding with honey and fruits, smoothies, etc.
𝕂𝕖𝕖𝕡 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕗 𝕘𝕣𝕠𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕕
This may seem like an odd habit to adopt but stay with me. I can’t speak for everyone but I know as women we like to let our hair grow out in the winter to quote on quote keep us warm. This however can have counter productive results. Take time once a week to groom yourself, shave, do a body scrub, trim and paint your nails ; these types of things. This will make you feel put together and ready to take on the world. Sometimes not keeping yourself groomed will save you time, but it can also make you feel sloppy. Getting your hair trimmed, your nails done, or making sure to do your make-up can be that pick me up that you have been needing!
𝔸𝕕𝕠𝕡𝕥 𝕒 “𝔾𝕠-𝕋𝕠” 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕦𝕥𝕪 𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖
This is easier said then done, but this is one habit I love having in my everyday life. I have adopted a “ALMOST” completely vegan beauty routine. From the time I step into the shower, till the time I leave out the door, 98% of the products I use are VEGAN! Adopting a beauty routine you love can make getting up and getting ready for your day, that much better. It makes you excited to shower and do things like your make-up. You can choose products specially designed for acne, aging, color pigmentation, being vegan, gluten free, paraben free etc! Find products you love and start your “Go-To” beauty routine!
