Hey there lovelies! It’s very hard especially during the holiday season to keep yourself eating healthy and working out! Here are some tips and tricks, and what I eat throughout the day to stay lean!

The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is boil water for my green tea. Recently, within the last three months, I have cut out coffee completely and switched to green tea. Drinking green tea helps with inflammation, boosts your brain function, helps speed up your metabolism and so much more!Β
- I drink my green tea with a slice of lemon and a teaspoon or so of honey
Oatmeal is my go to breakfest for any day of the week. Oatmeal tends to be naturally processed making it easy on your body to digest. Not only is it good for your heart, but it is also a natural laxative, and that is something you want to have in your morning meal. I love oatmeal because it fills me up and keeps me energized all day long!
- I make my oatmeal with soy milk, raisins and brown sugar.Β

Lately my go to lunch has been steamed or baked sweet potatoes with some vegetable sour cream and a tall glass of water. Sweat potatoes are rich in vitamin C and vitamin E, it also holds a lot of potassium, all of which are needed for your body to function. The peals of the sweat potatoes like a lot of fruits and vegetables old most if not all of the antioxidants.Β
- Baked sweat potatoes: slice into inch size cubes, lay them flat on a pan, add olive oil seasoning and fresh lemon juice, cook for 30 to 45 mins or until crispy and brown!

I have been eating a lot of crispy vegetables and steamed white rice. Now if you are trying to loose weight switch the white rice out for brown rice of cauliflower rice. For me I like the carbs that white rice adds to my meal. Since I go running after dinner, the white rice gives me that energy boost I need to have a descent paced run. Vegetables are an obvious one, you should be eating as much green as possible through out the day. The rice I use is by the brand “Auji” its Vegan & Organic and MSG Free.Β
- Two cups of rice to one cup of water (for more flavor switch the water out for vegetable stock) add rice when water boils, place lid on and allow to cook for 16-18 mins.Β
- Chop vegetables into cubes, add olive oil place on flat pan and add spices. Cook at 350 for 20 mins or until crispy and brown

My go to snacks when I start to feel hungry are “Boom Chicka Pop” popcorn in sea salt and “Yoplait” Whipped yogurt. The popcorn is a light and airy snack that doesn’t have many calories and tastes so good! The yogurt is my favorite when my sweet tooth comes out. Again it does not have to many calories and is such a better alternative to ice cream or candy.Β
Love these kinds of post βΊ have to try the dinner.

I was doing so well before I moved! This looks a lot like what I had been doing…although admittedly not as exclusively…summer and ice cream. But these pictures have inspired me to reclaim the vision!! New Year’s resolution…that and blogging regularly, lol.
Have a great fun happy holiday!!

Thank you! I really appreciate that!
I really enjoy the healthful choices…but there was a little while where I was short of funds and living on the go out of my car so it got me all off course. (not to mention that emotional eating and holidays seem to go hand in hand)
Thankfully the finances are coming back and I have a beautiful big kitchen at my disposal while I’m living here. Now it’s a matter of renewing the good habits. New Years brings a cleansing breeze to refresh one’s soul after certain challenges that come with Christmas!

I completely understand! The holidays are hard when your trying to live a healthy lifestyle! For me I indulge in cookies, but I limit myself or choose the healthier option. It’s not about completely cutting out all the good stuff its amount making small changes!

I find these posts really interesting! I have sweet potatoes, oatmeal and green tea daily as well. Though sometimes I have to have coffee. And I’m really trying to drink lemon water daily because I read so many benefits about it π
