Hey there my lovelies! Today were talking about how to get yourself inspired when you feel like your in a rut. Inspiration comes from everywhere, in all the people you speak to and all the places you visit. But when you feel like your stuck, it can be very easy to over look it all. Here are some tips and tricks to help you feel more inspired!

Sometimes when your in a rut, it can be hard to focus on anything other then being stuck. The fact that your mind wants so badly to get inspired or to get out of the rut can sometimes be the one thing keeping you there. It’s important to do things that clear your mind and helps you breathe. Even if it’s cold outside, it’s good to get out in nature, take a walk, go for a run, take your kids to the park. Get outside, clear your head, and focus on breathing. Clearing your mind is the first thing to help get your inspiration back.

I know for me, I journaled a lot growing up. It helped me get my ideas, my thoughts out on paper. One of my favorite mechanisms when I’m feeling uninspired is to go back through some of my old journals. It can help me see how far I’ve come, see what worked for me at that point in time, and to get the fuel back in my fire. If you never kept journals growing up, then start journaling now. I’ve said this a lot, but journaling is a great way to get all your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.

When your in a rut getting on social media can be the worst thing you can do. To watch your friends lives moving in an upward direction while you feel stuck. So stay off social media, for a bit, take a break from posting and uploading, and take some time for yourself. Instead of being on social media, try watching things that will help you feel more inspired. Thing like ted talks, videos on make-up or fashion, videos on things you enjoy doing. As silly as it sounds watching your favorite romance or comedy movies can help a lot more than you think. Like I said earlier you can get inspiration from a wide range of of places.

People make a vision board for all sorts of reasons. I make myself a vision board at the beginning of every new year, as a way to remind myself of my goals. If you are stuck in a rut creating a vision board will help tremendously. All you need is a poster board and a printer. Print out pictures of things that make you happy, things that make you feel inspired, things that you want to achieve and more. I can guarantee this isn’t the last time you’ll feel uninspired in your life, having this board will be something for you to look at day in and day out, to keep you motivated and on the right track.

The two minute rule is so simple, but it can sometimes be exactly what you need. It can be hard to start the work when you just don’t feel like doing it. The two minute rule, simply means, that you will sit down and focus on the task at hand for two minutes. More likely than not, that two minutes will turn into a longer time spent on the task. If after two minutes you still feel unmotivated than at least you got a bit of work done. Sometimes the hardest part is starting and you need to do just that, start.

Pinterest is like a hub for inspiration, it’s the perfect place to go when your lacking inspiration and motivation. Pinterest is perfect for finding inspirational quotes, lists for ways to help you get out of your rut, videos, crafts and more. Spend and hour or half hour on Pinterest and I guarantee you will have a million ideas running through your mind. Sometimes you know you want to do something you just don’t know exactly what that something is. Getting your mind going and working can be the first step to figuring it out.

Doing anything and everything to get your creative juices flowing, is the way to start. For me reading helps me feel inspired. Reading all sorts of different books from romance to murder mysteries and more. Reading fills your mind with thoughts other then feeling uninspired and sometimes that’s all it takes. For some reason showering always gets those juices flowing. Get under the hot water, turn on your favorite playlist, and take a relaxing shower. Tune your mind out to all the stress and feelings of being stuck. And last but not least sleep. Sleep deprivation can cause you to feel cranky, jittery, unmotivated, uninspired and overall just yucky. If you haven’t been sleeping well, take sometime out of your day for a power nap. It’ll help you feel more awake, more alert and ready to begin.

Hi! new here! Love your post! I have an online store where everything is handmade. Sometimes I get soo bogged down trying ti get new inspiration and ideas for the different ideas I need to add to my inventory. It get tough to stay “in the mood” to create too. I do the Pintrest thing! Lord …what a boon! I find soo much And as for as journaling…well not only do I write …I create Journals too! But even that gets tiring looking for unique ideas. I love your tips. I’m in Colorado, so snow is a constant, and cold….brrrr! So getting out is really hard, but I sometimes open the door to get some fresh air and let my cats play a bit! Watching them real helps the dulldrums too!
Anyway…just though I’d comment and tell ya The is Good!
Thanks and Blessings to you and yours!
